Brea, California is a city in Orange County with a population of about 40,000. It is located near Los Angeles and has a lot of amenities to offer its residents. The city is within the Los Angeles metropolitan area, but it has its own distinct culture and identity.
Brea was founded in 1887 by real estate developer C.H. Brown and named after his favorite horse, "Brownie". It was incorporated as a city in 1912 and has been growing ever since.
The city's motto is "A great place to live, work, play and learn". The city has many parks including Brea Community Park and Brea Sports Park. There are also many performing arts venues like the Brea Theatre Company which puts on plays throughout the year as well as hosting concerts by local bands such as The Smithereens or Daughtry.
The city has several historic homes which have been preserved for their architectural significance such as the William H. Workman House (built in 1890), which is now an inn called Casa de Amparo Bed & Breakfast Inn & Restaurant; or De Vries House (built in 1894) which now houses a museum dedicated to Belgian-American author Hendrik van
