History of Davie

The area was originally inhabited by the Seminole tribe. In the early 1900s, the town was established by Tamara Toussaint and Jake Tannebaum. They named the town after Robert P. Davie, a Colorado developer who had purchased land in the area.

Davie was officially incorporated as a town in 1925. Much of its early growth was fueled by the construction of railroads that connected South Florida.
