Arcadia is a city in Los Angeles County, California, United States, located about 13 miles northeast of downtown Los Angeles in the San Gabriel Valley and at the base of the San Gabriel Mountains.
At an elevation of 147 m (482 ft), it is one of the lowest-elevation cities in Los Angeles County. Arcadia is located at 34°05′19″N 118°08′04″W.
Arcadia has a Mediterranean climate, with warm dry summers, mild winters with heavy morning fogs on occasion (especially in relation to the coastal plain), and very warm and sunny days year-round. Summertime heat waves can push temperatures above 100 °F (38 °C). Winter cold waves can push temperatures below 32 °F (−0.5 °C).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 28.84 square kilometers (11.27 sq mi). 28.8 square kilometers (11.26 sq mi) of it is land and 0.14% is water. The 2010 United States Census reported that Arcadia had a population of 57,053. The population density was 5,062.2 people per square mile (1,934.5/km²).
There were 21,666 households out of which 29.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 59% were married couples living together, 7% had a female householder with no husband present and 32% were non-families. 26% of all households were made up of individuals and 12% had someone living alone.
