After 10 years in 2020 county had an estimated population of 67,069 inhabitants. Its county seat is Sinton. The county was created 190 years ago in 1834.
San Patricio County is located along the Texas Gulf Coast in the Corpus Christi metropolitan area. As of the 2020 census, the population was 67,068 making it the 26th most populous county in Texas. The county seat is Sinton.
History
Early history
San Patricio County was established in 1836 under Mexican governance. It is named for Saint Patrick. Sinton was designated county seat in 1876.
Growth
The economy was initially ranching focused. In the 1900s, port operations, oil and gas, and manufacturing drove growth.
