San Angelo is a city located in the county of Tom Green in the U.S. state of Texas. Its population at the 2010 census was 93,200 and a population density of 578 people per km². After 10 years in 2020 city had an estimated population of 101,612 inhabitants.

San Angelo is a city in west-central Texas and the county seat of Tom Green County. With a population of around 100,000, it is a major hub of the Concho Valley region.

Cattle and Oil

The economy of San Angelo has historically been based on the livestock and oil industries. San Angelo has been called the "Cattle Capital of Texas" thanks to the numerous cattle ranches surrounding the city. Oil was discovered in the area in 1928, fueling growth.

Military Presence

The area has a strong military presence with Goodfellow Air Force Base located nearby. The base is home to the 17th Training Wing and Fire Department training for all branches.
