Quincy is a city located south of Boston in Norfolk County, Massachusetts. It was first settled in 1625 and officially incorporated as its own town in 1792. The city was named after Colonel John Quincy, grandfather of President John Quincy Adams.
Quincy was home to two presidents - John Adams and John Quincy Adams. It also played a key role in the American Revolution with events like the passage of the Quincy Resolves in 1774 denouncing "taxation without representation". Shipbuilding and granite quarrying were major early industries.
