Murray County is located in the northwestern corner of Georgia, bordering Tennessee and bordering the edge of the Blue Ridge Mountains. It was founded in 1832 from Cherokee land. The county seat and largest town is Chatsworth.
Chatsworth - With around 4,000 residents, this is the largest town and county seat. Key landmarks include the Murray County Courthouse and Oak Hill & West Hill Cemeteries.
Eton - Situated along US-411, Eton has around 1,500 residents. Points of interest include Joe Stock Memorial Park and Murray County Museum.
Spring Place - This small town of under 1,000 residents contains Fort New Echota Historic Site, which was once the Cherokee Nation capital.
Tennga - Situated near Dalton, this tiny town has roots in the old mining and lumber industries. Only a few hundred residents live here.
