The city was created 135 years ago in 1888.

Edmond is a city in Oklahoma County, Oklahoma located just north of Oklahoma City. It was founded in 1887 during the Oklahoma Land Run when pioneers staked claims.

The Santa Fe Railway reached Edmond in 1887, establishing the town as a key railroad station. Early settlers established farms and businesses to support the railroad.

Edmond was officially incorporated as a city in 1890. It served as an economic hub and agricultural resource for central Oklahoma.

In the post-WWII era, Edmond evolved into a suburb as Oklahoma City expanded northward. Its population boomed from under 4,000 in 1960 to over 80,000 today.
