Brazos County is a county located in the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2010 census, the population was 194,851 and a population density of 127 people per km². After 10 years in 2020 county had an estimated population of 232,555 inhabitants. Its county seat is Bryan. The county was created 183 years ago in 1841.
Brazos County is located in east central Texas and is considered part of the Brazos Valley region. It was established in 1841 and named for the Brazos River which runs through it.
Anglo settlers first came to the area in the 1820s to establish cotton plantations. The fertile river valley soil supported large cotton crops and plantation agriculture. The county grew significantly leading up to the Civil War.
Texas A&M University was established in Brazos County in 1876 and became one of the largest universities in the country.

College Station is the largest city and home to Texas A&M University. Other towns include:
