Aurora is a city located in the county of Kane in the U.S. state of Illinois. Its population at the 2010 census was 197,899 and a population density of 1,669 people per km². After 10 years in 2020 city had an estimated population of 196,383 inhabitants.

The city was created 189 years ago in 1834.
